Two households both alike in dignity,
In fair Verona, where we lay our scene,
From ancient grudge break to new mutiny,
Where civil blood makes civil hands unclean.
From forth the fatal loins of these two foes
A pair of star-crossed lovers take their life.
(Romeo and Juliet,Shakespeare)
Today is Great Lovers Day. And whenever we talk about Great Lovers, we cannot help but think of Romeo and Juliet. Shakespeare's romantic tragedy Romeo and Juliet is a milestone Love Story, that will be synonymous with teenage love forever. The story as we all know, is about two young lovers who are madly in love, but unfortunately their families are at loggerheads with each other. They are daring enough to cross all boundaries to be together and finally their own family conspiracies and destiny brings about their tragic death. The lovers do get each other, but sadly only after death. The play ends with a brief elegy for the lovers:
"For never was a story of more woe
Than this of Juliet and her Romeo."
Shakespeare wrote the play in 1595, but later again in 1996, Leonardo Dicaprio and Claire Danes enacted the classical Love Story.
Lets commemorate this immortal love story of Romeo and Juliet today on Great Lover's Day. A very Happy Great Lovers Day to all. Check these Love you cards and send them to all you love, and all you think are Great Lovers.
